Quite often caused by battery problems due to constant short runs, this operation requires a well charged battery and suggest that a long run is tried or an overnight battery charge to see if that helps.

Sorry I cannot answer your query but I would be interested in knowing what work is entailed in tackling your proposed Dual Mass Flywheel change. Not planning to do it myself as it has just gone into dealers to be done under warranty but I'd like to know how it is done and how do they get to it? Hope...

Just seen your diagnosis . wonder if you still have the car plus fault?
I had similar experience like engine almost stalling in moving off and reversing at slow speeds, turned out to be partial failure of Dual Mass Flywheel.
