Problem sorted.
These faults all started a few weeks after i'd the clutch replaced. Eventually the fault was traced to the main engine / gearbox earth. The bolt that holds it in place was ever so slightly loose and so was causing high resistance and upsetting the ECU's. Once the connection was cleaned up, due to arcing, all the faults just disappeared. The gearbox ECU was now communicating again, but due to the earth lead had fault codes. Once all faults cleared using diagbox and vehicle test driven, none of the faults returned and the car has a clean bill off health again.
If anyone gets any erroneous faults, check the earths first.
