New 3008 on the driveway!

Hello all. As of today I'm a 3008 owner; a 1.5 HDi EAT8 GT Line in pearlescent white. However, with only 10 miles on the clock from driving it home, it has been rained upon (how dare it!) so I'll have to take it back now and get another one, it's all wet! ;)

I thought the 1.6 diesel in my CashCow was refined but the Peugeot is in a different league; super smooth. After watching some reviews, I thought the suspension might be a little harsh, but not so. And the steering isn't too light, or the wheel too small. I think the reviewers just have to find something to moan about.

Firmware is v21.07.67.32_NAC-r0 and the maps v11.0 - a bit disappointed as I asked for updates to be done in the PDI, but hey ho. Only got the basic how-to manual too; no audio/telematics. On the plus side TomTom Traffic was properly set up, yay!

Looking forward to having a chin wag with some of you fine folks in the future.

Glad to hear your delighted with the 3008, and an excellent specification if I may say - get some photos up on here for everyone to drool over! I collect mine on December 2nd, which mirrors yours apart from the Premium added onto the end.

I was very impressed when I first had the test ride and couldn't get over how refined it was. My daughter has the Ateca, and I was looking at that and the Tiguan if I'm honest, because I've been a VW & Mercedes owner these last 10 years.

My wife has a 2017 308 GT Line - EAT 6, and when I first jumped in it for a test drive, I knew then it was much more refined than my current Golf GTD - DSG.

Anyway, the rest is history and I'm so looking forward to collecting mine soon - the countdown is on! I was interested to read the part about the firmware and possible map updates for the vehicle and is this something I need to check on collection day, or, is it worth me mentioning this to the salesman beforehand?

I'm sure you'll be busy these next few days, while playing and adjusting all the toys on the 3008. The cook/interior and dash, reminds me of a concept car! Enjoy it and look forward to seeing some pics on here

Many thanks jsmith. I originally planned to get the Premium model but found the panoramic roof left me no headroom (I'm 6' 3"). After seeing lots of photos/vids I also intended getting a Copper colour but on seeing one "in the flesh", I thought that it doesn't look its best unless it's a very bright day.

I asked the salesman about the firmware updates and booklet; I got the usual "you'll have to download them" reply. I've had a moan about it (as I'm sure many others have on here) but in the end, I'm not that bothered.

I bet you're hopping up and down with anticipation so hope the time passes quickly until your collection date - after which I am sure you'll be driving your new 3008 around with the same look of intolerable smugness that I have on my face! :)

Hi Muttley,
Had my 1.2 EAT6 since Aug 18 in Sunset Copper which receives much acclaim. I agree it does look it's best in the sun but it never ever looks dirty!

Thank you Muttley,

Fair comment about the Pan Roof and I'm 6'2 but it never bothered me, and I have no intentions of sitting in the back LOL! It crossed my mind about the Sunset Copper and it was the demo in their showroom - it did look stunning to be fair. However, we're all different and I'm an avid WHITE fan because I keep my cars sparkling clean, while always 'Hand-washing' them weekly etc. I find ceramic coating them as soon as possible is key for maintaining that sparkle on the paintwork, and hand-washing and towelling them dry gives it that extra shine!

I didn't order my GTD in white because I thought it just didn't suit the car and ordered it in Limestone Metallic Grey, after seeing many colours in the flesh. Wifey's 308 is the pearlescent white so it was a 'No Brainer' for me when deciding what colour to order, and when the dealer showed it to me in the flesh - it definitely gave me the WAW factor!

I'll check the firmware update out with the dealer because they've been excellent from start to finish, and I've nothing to lose. I have seen some of the posts on here about how to update it with a USB Stick, but it sounds really complex?!

Yep, collection day can't come quick enough and I'm soooooooo looking forward to it 😁

Deccadick - I was so sure that I'd be ordering a sunset copper 3008 that I bought diecast models (1:43 and 1:64) in that colour long before I placed the actual order. The copper looks fabulous in sunshine so if I'd ordered in the summer, maybe I wouldn't have ended up with a white car! However, my search is now on for a 1/43 scale model 3008 in pearlescent white...

My last car was gunmetal and for the 3008 I wanted something jazzier. My dealer reckoned they could get me a car in six weeks if I restricted colour choices to black, red or pearlescent white, and so having crossed copper off the list, then white it was (it didn't hurt that I was getting a high cost option for nowt). The car arrived six weeks to the day but needed PDI which took it a few more days.

jsmith - updating mapping looks ok to me. It's a case of downloading a large file, unzipping it to a correctly formatted USB stick, putting one file in a folder called "license" and shoving ithe stick in the car. As for the pana roof, I found the headroom ok when the seat was right down. I had one on the Qashqai and very rarely opened the blind in three years, so figured it was an option I could do without after all. I guess it's one of those things that polarise opinion.

Whatever the colour or equipment options, it's clear we all have a fantastic car!

Very occasionally I've seen a hint of an icy blue, but in general I find it's a warm white - can even look a very pale gold in parts sometimes. It depends on light source I suppose, and the effect is subtle, but there's much more tonal depth than a solid white.

Ooh, beautiful colour choice! Mine is in having some Feynlab Ceramic Coating applied to her - cannot wait to see it tomorrow :D
