HI. i have joined the forum to connect with 3008 owners. i am looking for a new car and a GT line 1.6 petrol is top of my shopping list at the mo and am interested in what other owners think and of any problems that might stop me buying ultimately, thanks and hi again

Keep away from the manual gearbox and you’ll be fine. It’s a great car in auto.

The 8 speed auto gearbox is a real gem. Very pleasing to drive.

Plus you can select the gears with the paddles on the steering wheel instead and play Formula One. :D

I have an auto for medical reasons, but even if I could still drive a manual I wouldn't go back to one.

Back to your main question, the 1.6 is a fine engine (it was my 2nd choice after the 1.5 diesel) but if you want a petrol 3008 I hear the 1.2 has a lot of grunt for its size, and has reasonable fuel economy. I suppose the sensible thing is to test drive both!
