Hi,

I have recently bought a 2019 3008 1.6 petrol (8-speed) Premium. I am really not happy with the way the car steers and rides (although the 3008 looks fantastic).

The ride quality (especially at low speeds) is incredibly poor/average, fidgeting over bumps in a way my former 3008 (1.6 diesel) never did. My 'new' 3008 has 19-inch wheels and tyres, whereas my old diesel had 18-inch and was far softer, more supple over typical UK roads (as true Peugeots should be). It was a pleasure to drive.

Dealer flatly refused idea to downgrade the 19-in wheels to 18-inch (never mind the cost) as I'm told the wheels/tyres are specifically set up from new at the factory and changing them in any way will upset the ABS brake settings. Hmmmm

Just wondering if the heavier diesel engine is a factor between the two cars (along with the smaller wheels) in terms of ride quality/steering response. Does the diesel 3008 have different bushing/damper/roll bar settings over the petrol 3008?

Thinking, ultimately, best route is to sell the 3008 petrol for something else as dealers are not interested in this kind of refined wheel/tyre/suspension management...but would be interested in any responses, if anyone's interested to respond.

Merci bien!

All I know is my 2018 Peugeot 3008 petrol 1.2 with 18 inch wheels was a lot smoother ride and less bumpy than my current diesel 1.5 2019 With 19 inch wheels. Big difference.

Thanks for your response, bears out what I’ve been thinking. But practicalities and cost of downgrading from 19 to 18 inch not easy, alas...
