Hi
I'm ready to purchase a Peugeot 3008. However, i just cant decide on the 1.2 or 1.6........

first I say 1.2 cause most of the time its town driving and weekends further afield.

has then 1.2 really got the power for such a big car? good reviews on fuel usage
Then...

1.6 as when I go further afield dual carriageways not motorways..

someone help me please ...

Many Thanks

I've just taken delivery of a new 3008 1.2 EAT8 Allure Premium to replace my 3008 1.2 EAT6 Allure. The new one hasn't done a 100 miles yet but early perception is that it is more economical than the 6 speed box. I took the 6 speed one to Denmark in 2019 via Harwich/Hook, Holland and Germany covering some 1500 miles at 39mpg which considering autobahn speed was around 80mph I was very pleased. I always feel that fuel costs are minimal over a 3 year ownership period when compared with depreciation at £13,000, servicing at £800 , VED and Insurance at £1,400. The performance of the 1.2 is really good, as good as 1600 and 1800cc cars I've had previously

1.2 for such a big car seems to be too small. wont gave you pleasure from driving

The 1.2 is remarkably punchy for a small engine. It drives like a much larger vehicle. Our previous family car was a much-loved Mazda5 2.0i. The Peugeot 3008 with its 1.2l engine is faster 0-60, feels just as powerful and is a joy to drive. What it lacks in torque it makes up for in being half a ton lighter than similar sized vehicles, therefore simply doesn't need as much power to deliver similar / better results than its peers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the 1.2.

I agree. I'm on my 3rd auto 1.2 a 3008 EAT8 preceded by a 2008 EAT6 (66 plate) followed by a 3008 EAT6 (18 plate). My only real grouse with the car is that the touch screen is still useable whilst moving and such a wish as to change the cabin temperature is not risk free. Peugeot could learn from Mazda when whilst moving the screen is dead to the touch and control is effected using a joysrick and a relatively safe thing to do.
