Need to reset the Service Warning Indicator

Can anyone shed a light on how to reset the Service warning indicator?

Because mine was a pre-registered car, I had it serviced at 12 months from registration. Now, six months later and 12 months after I received it, the service warning indicator is nagging endlessly. I assume the garage didn't reset it when they serviced it.

Anyway, the instructions from the manual say...
Switch off the ignition.
Press and hold the button located on the end of the wiper control stalk.
Switch on the ignition; a temporary display window appears and a countdown begins. When the display indicates =0, release the
button; the spanner disappears.

By "switch in the ignition" I assume they mean push the engine Stop Start button without your foot on the break (??)

However, nothing unusual happens. No temporary display. No countdown.

What am I doing wrong?

On my 2015 3008, I hold down the trip reset button, turn on the ignition, and the countdown begins. After 10 seconds, it tells me re-initialisation is complete.
