I have booked a new appointment this Monday so that they open an official ticket with Peugeot France. Apparently they need my car for a full day to open a case 🤨

Hi all, another 3008 gearbox whine.
My wife and I ordered a new 3008 1.2 manual GT Line Premium on 25 March this year but had to wait until 5 July to collect it as we specified a factory fitted option. It really is a superb car.
However when I got to drive it a couple of weeks later I could hear a whining noise which i suspected was the gearbox. As the car was going into the garage for its 1 month/1000 mile check I reported it then. A technician came with me for a test drive and confirmed he could hear the whining noise. He said he will carry out the car check and then get his manager to go for a test drive in another couple of cars to compare. When everything was completed the service desk person gave us the keys to the car and said they all sound the same, no explanation.
Thought about this on the way home not believing the whining noise was a characteristic of the vehicle and by this time my ears were tuned into the noise even above the radio.
I searched online and found this forum and after reading the posts was really angry the garage had fobbed me of with they all sound the same comment.
Phoned the dealership next morning and spoke to the same person behind the service desk and explained to him I’d done a search online and found this forum etc etc. After I said according to some of the posts Peugeot are aware of this problem and have changed several gearboxes the service desk person said all their cars have this whine and that’s just how it is, Unbelievable!! I decided to leave it at and said I would phone Peugeot Technical. Phoned Peugeot customer services who took all the details but said they won’t get involved until the dealership contacts them. Went back to the dealership and explained and as a result the car is going in next week so they can speak to Peugeot Technical and carry out any check they are instructed to do.
Why the dealership couldn’t just admit they knew of the problem and progressed from there I don’t know, well I think i do , they probably wouldn’t sell any cars. Watch this space!!

I just received a mail this morning from Peugeot concerning the whining noise. The problem is known and fix is expected in the last quarter of this year. They will contact me when the fix is ready. I opened a ticket directly with peugeot service desk using the chat room (i think that I was persuasive enough and lucky) and I have now a ticket reference number. However normally it should go to the garage (this monday I will bring my car for the full day) so that they open a ticket wit peugeot.
But now I have it on paper that peugeot is aware and will fix it before the end of the year, this is good news!

thanks for your participation in the chat.
It is annoying to hear that you hear a howling sound when you release the accelerator pedal around 50 km.
It is indeed a known issue of the 5008 and a solution is being worked on.
We expect to have a solution for this in the fourth quarter.
You will most likely be contacted around that time, if not, it is best to contact your dealer by that time.

I am now waiting for Peugeot to contact me back in the next 3 months, there is nothing more I can do. The noise seems to get ridiculously worse at 62km/h... 😩😫👎

Update from Denmark: Peugeot Denmark still denies the problem. The car owner organization FDM is now collecting cases from owners with similar problems and will try to run a joint case against them. Unfortunately, this can take up to two years. I am now awaiting the further developments in this forum and hope you soon will have a breakthrough in England, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic.
