Anyone had any problems with their parking brake on the Allure 1.2 manual.
Called Peugeot Assist, technician unable to diagnose the problem as software was not available on his computer, escorted me to dealership where everything was reset, however was informed that if the problem appeared again it could be a faulty switch, fingers crossed.

My Allure is a 1.2 Auto and I had a problem one day last week, MIB, when I parked next to a very large Cedar Tree. The roots of the tree had made the tarmac very uneven and as soon as I put the parking brake on I had 2 messages flash up on my screen, one of them advising me of a Parking Brake fault. I was able to activate the brake myself and the message cleared and I've not had it since. I'm convinced that the problem was caused by the very bad surface under the wheels as it's not come back.

The other message however referred to a Hill Start Assist and although the message hasn't returned I'm now having problems with my car rolling backwards (or forwards) when stopping on an incline. I must admit that I'm beginning to think that the 2 things are related but the car is in for this to be checked on 22nd May, together with the Tom Tom Live Services so I will keep you informed.

Thanks for your update, mine is in for its check on 17th May,hopefully the tomtom live services will be installed, although when I spoke to the dealership last week they weren't aware of this upgrade but assured me they would look into it, this is despite Peugeot supposedly informing all dealerships of it.See what happens on Wednesday,it appeares everthing connected with this new model is "hairy fairy"at the moment with regards to updates and replacement items,as I mentioned in a previous post on the 17th March I reported the drivers seat pad had what appeared to be glue or some other mark and 2 of my alloy wheels were faulty, the dealership reported it the same day to Peugeot (so they say) and I'm still waiting for something to happen. Will keep you posted

Well I hope you're successful on Wednesday, MIB, especially with the Live Services. My dealers didn't have a clue about it when I took my car back hence why it's booked in for a week tomorrow.

Not sure if this should be here or in the tech section.

So this is something on the lines of what if the battery is flattened by some malfunction while the vehicle is parked, would the electric handbrake fail?

This is the first car I have had with this feature and after driving cars for 50+ years with a manual handbrake it does feel strange.

My Qashqai had a Stop/Start fault that was caused by a faulty battery needing a replacement battery. While I waited a few days to get it into the garage for the diagnosis I continued using my car and at no time did my electric handbrake fail to engage. I would therefore suggest that it will be ok even if the battery is faulty although whether it would work if the battery was flat is another matter!

Hi Mninblack

I got the same message twice now parking break along with hill assistance faulty. Mine is Peugeot 3008 Allure.

I have noticed that this only happens with me when I am parking the car and RPM is low , this conclusion is because the fault occurs within a gap of two days. Usually when I go for parking I turn off the auto engine off and in during when the fault occur auto engine off was enabled

However kindly let us know what the dealer told you? I have booked my car in for Thursday 14th September

I received my new car 3008 Allure 1.2 Turbo (1st or 2nd car of the first badge in Singapore) on the 1st week of Sep 2017. Since then then, it has gone back to the Peugeot workshop twice to fix the same problem as you. 1st time they said fixed but came back, the same problem happened again the next morning. Every time the warnings came out the car would stall and I have to restart the car. Brought back to the workshop for a couple of days more for them to fix. They said they installed new software in the ICU. Have been driving a few days now and so far ok. However, today there was a warning saying "Parking assistance....". Not sure this is related to the same problem or it is a new fault. However this doesn't stall the car, just that it shows a warning. Let me know if you've got the above problem settled and how it was fixed.
