Hi all,
I thinking about getting a tow bar fitted, been looking at getting a fixed one. my question is, has anyone one on here had a fixed tow bar fitted and does it interfere with the parking sensors.

Kev,
I can't comment on a fixed towbar as I have a detachable. When I drive with the detachable installed it does not interfere with the sensors. I would be surprised if the fixed towbar gives any problems. The detachable is unobtrusive when disconnected and the electric socket swings up out of view.

Dave,
Thank you for info, I didn't think it would as my last two Peugeots I had detachable towbars fitted on and I never took them off.
I just don't see the point paying Β£100 more for a detachable one. The last two were swan necks, this time might be going for a flange as I plan to use a bike rack.

Kev,
it makes sense if you want to mount a bike take. After a few bruised shins, I went detachable. Also I do prefer my rear end to be neat and tidy. Lol

I have got it factory fitted and the parking sensors work fine. had trouble using the tailgate sensor initially, little tricky to use without hitting the shins.

Out of interest what cost for the tow bar and fitting?

At the point where I want to take bikes on the car, and need to decide roof or tow bar.

Roof mounted would/should be cheaper. My detachable towbar cost Β£675 fitted, but did have electrics for caravan towing, some of which involved connecting to the battery.
