Windscreen wiper controls

Hello, I've recently bought a 2014 3008 1.6 HDI and have a query about the windscreen wiper controls. According to the owners manual there should be an off position for the auto aspect but I can't find it. On the stalk itself it shows a 0 above auto which should be off but when I select this it's actually intermittent. Down is spring loaded single wipe returning to auto, 1 up is intermittent, 2 up is slow and 3 up is fast. The reason I'm asking is that I need to be able to turn off auto wipe for the car wash. Any help/advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Pat

INTERMITTENT

Same on my 2016 1.6 hdi
Going up to 0 from auto gives a message 'auto wipe off' but it doesn't turn off !
I have to come up 2 notches from auto then back down to 0 to turn off auto wipe.
C'est la vie !
