Loss of power

Help needed for a 18plate 3008,Had the car a year from Arnold Clarke however within the first 6 months we noticed whilst going down the motorway in the outside lane lost power This happened a few times since and becoming scary,We called Arnold clark and they stated we would have to pay for a diagnosis?
