Apple Carplay - Wireless?

Hi All,
Just a quick question, does anyone know if apple carplay can be used wirelessly, or if it's only via the USB port?

I was a little disappointed with this as well. She who knows better has just got a Mini countryman and Carplay is wireless. It is frustrating that I have the charging pad in the 3008 but still have to fiddle with a cable

Yes BMW and Mercedes have now got wireless CarPlay and android in there new cars.

BMW Doesn't even have wired android auto yet, let alone wireless.
